Other initiatives

In addition to the summer residencies, the Nancy M. and Douglas M. Yeager Family Foundation has provided multiple grants to The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois;  the Wheaton, Illinois, Public Library; COA Youth and Family Centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Next Door Foundation in Milwaukee; Educare West DuPage in West Chicago, Illinois; Educare Flint in Flint, Michigan; Educare Denver in Denver, Colorado; Wheaton Warrenville Early Childhood Collaborative in DuPage County in Illinois; Community Foundation of Northern Colorado for a college scholarship at Colorado State University; Loudonville High School in Loudonville, Ohio, for a graduating senior intending to study music in college; and Fairmont Preschool in Kettering, Ohio.  The Foundation has also awarded occasional grants to the University of Colorado Denver, to the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and to other selected programs focused on the developmental needs of young children.

In addition, the Foundation has a special initiative to distribute free copies of three children's books titled Mommy Talk, Talk to Me, and Let’s Talk, which focus on the tremendous importance of parents and other caregivers talking, talking, and talking to and with the young children under their care.  Go to the Mommy Talk, Talk to Me, and Let’s Talk page for more information about how nonprofits, government agencies, pediatric clinics, pediatric hospitals, and individuals can easily obtain free copies of these helpful and useful resources.

The common thread is always, first and foremost, support for programs contributing to positive early childhood development in the communities we serve.
